I may come back once LW2 adopts wotc but until then, the end game is too much of a snore-fest. the old adage kill first ask questions later sadly holds true. a combo of spark with sacrifice and intimidate + specialist with aid protocol is really incredible defensive wise, sadly you don't need defences in this game. Psi soldiers are still the best class by far and my conclusion on the spark is that it is a good class, but far from essential. grenadiers were brought in line a bit with the lost and sharpshooters and rangers got a big boost with the chosen weapons.

The class balance between the 4 major classes is better in wotc although the specialist still lacks behind. I really like what LW2 did with different infiltration squads, psi soldier training and produceable pcs and weapon upgrades and deem it superior to wotc. psi soldier advancement should be tied to field missions in some way Overall wotc is a nice addition especially all the new tile sets etc. so many classes, but still only 6 slots for missions psi troops are trained, no experience in the field needed Once the chosen are dead, most of your soldiers are at col. I can't bring myself to finish the game, just a boring easy grind on commander difficulty. So they get a lot of kills despite not being kitted out for heavy combat. Again, probably because i use the bolt caster with them, which can instakill most things. I have the least trouble with specialists. And their XP threshold is one of the highest. So i dont really do a great deal of killing with them. They either strip armour via grenades or strip armour and shoot first. I think because i rarely kill units with them. I get towards the end and spend most of my time worrying about whether i will get all my soldiers levelled up to colonel rank. I still think the pacing is a bit off on this game. I will also go hunting for the berserker queen and the archon king.

Not because i really need them, i just want to check them out. Now im just sort of waiting for my research to complete whilst i get the last 2 spots on the map. Killed 2 chosen before they got their power bar filled, killed the viper king. I restarted as i kind of messed up the build order and i have a terrible habit of restarting games when i feel i have not done things optimally. Sometimes, especially with mechs and berserkers, they can get revealed and end up triggering multiple pods. Okay okay fine it depends on if you're going sniper or gunslinger, in which case the choice to make is obvious.I find this can also be an occupational hazard of using the reaper. This is where it might start being worth it to actually use pistols. I don't make pistol marksmen, but I look at the skill tree and can't imagine a pistol marksman even being worth it until you at least pick up Quickdraw. This is a pretty essential skill to have on a pistol focused marksman. Taking a pistol shot with your first action of a turn no longer ends the marksmans turn. Quickdraw is to a sharpshooter what Bulletswarm was to heavies in the first game. Can allow for a burst of damage if you score a kill and still have a target inside pistol range to shoot at. It's not an amazing skill, but it's handy and it's passive and makes your snipers better at sniping. This is handy for picking up a turn to reload a sniper rifle or to reposition your sniper. I don't actually know what causes this or why one lamp with the same tech score would be miles easier to hack than the second one but I'm glad i came across this and documented it a little.ĭeath From Above grants a bonus action to a sniper that scores a kill on an enemy that is at a lower elevation than the sniper. But at least I remembered to notice and point out the kind of strange behavior of hackable street lamps.

Hey guys, I'm all healthy again, mostly, and got some time to record with Guava so let's all have an update! There isn't much to say about this one though, it's a standard guerilla op that doesn't have any unexpected troubles tm. Part 16: Operation Bad Wrong Chicken Operation Bad Wrong Chicken
